Storms like Vivian (1990) and Lothar (1999) remain a troubling memory in the minds of both locals and visitors to the region. At the seven stopping points on this path you will learn, among other things, why such extreme events are increasing as a result of climate change. Other topics include the scientific work being done at the University of Bern on reconstructing the climate of the past, and the question as to what may happen with avalanches as the climate changes.
